Travellin’ Thursdays

Just in time for the weekends and as school winds down – we thought it would be fun to share a few of Virginia’s great day trips that are a short distance from the village of Midlothian.  We’ll explore spots that are a bit more unknown hoping to pique your interest.

Hiking Crabtree Falls

Crabtree Falls

Crabtree Falls

Crabtree Falls is arguably the most beautiful set of waterfalls in Virginia. Billed as the tallest waterfalls east of the Mississippi, Crabtree Falls is a must see for anyone who lives in our area.  It is a gorgeous hike along paved and dirt trails with wooden guardrails as you travel along various overlooks before reaching the top peak.  It is not a difficult hike and as you round each bend there’s a pretty sight to be seen.  www.hikingupward.com/gwnf/crabtreefalls

Strawberry Picking with a View, too!

On this fourth generation farm, discover the season’s sweetest homegrown strawberries. Open daily, Seaman’s Orchard grows acres of strawberries ripe for picking with cherries and blueberries just about ready for picking as well.  The farm also grows apples and pumpkins for the fall harvest season.  Strawberry Patch
